Okay can they please stop putting all young people as one group. I’m 21 technically a gen z, my boyfriend in 24 the last in the millennial group, my cousin who is in her thirties is also a millennial. They talk so much about young people and kids who I assume they mean anyone under 25, but they never know how these people are really feeling. I know there is a lot of wisdom among these ladies and I respect that. But times are different. I was hoping if there was going to be a new host it would be someone in their early twenties.

I had an economics major high school diploma. 25 yo , zero debt and excellent 👌🏽 credit score. While thinking 🤔 I want to teach my technique others. Could help people.

I graduated high school in 2011 and I remember taking homework and middle school as well as technology and economics my junior year and it was a requirement to graduate and so I do feel bad for other people who didn’t have that type of education because it was helpful to me

Home economics is still in schools. I took it in 7th and 8th grade around 2007/2008. It was called Teen Living but basically was a home economics class

I think no generation has it together when it comes to money, tbh. It is easier for past generations because they are established and have insurance etc. The cost of education was cheaper back then. Most millennials are struggling because of student debt and probably because of hospital/healthcare debt.

So my mother is abusive. I’ve learned not to ask her for anything and only take things if she gives them to me. I don’t ask things for holidays or birthday because that will start a rant that will last for weeks saying “ I work hard and you don’t care”. I’ve learned to be independent and learnt the value of money even though I never had a job as a 17 year old. Abusive homes can teach a lot

it isn't about "money management" it's about young people not having enough money in the first place bc everything is so much more expensive (w inflation) - student loans, housing costs etc. It's even harder for a kid that doesn't have a foundation of money to lean back on. Paying back student loans is much more difficult now than it used to be. I have friends that missed meals bc they couldn't afford it anymore. Generally workers are paid less now. Richard Wolff discusses the inequities greatly.

Personally I think education gives many insights on the history and function of the world today which is time better spent than teaching how to handle money. We can learn about managing money at the tip of our fingers.
